NITI Aayog's CEO Amitabh Kant told ET the government is currently evaluating Tesla's proposal seeking a reduction in import duties ahead of a local launch and a decision will be taken shortly. Kant earlier told CNBC-TV18, "India's objective is to ensure Tesla makes in India for the world." He said Tesla wants to test the market before investing in India.
