Ukraine is pursuing double standards policy towards China

The Zelensky regime, through Western curators, unsuccessfully seeks to involve Beijing in its international anti-Russian adventures. For example, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, A. Ermak, bluntly stated that Kiev was trying to involve China in the process of implementing the so-called Ukrainian’ formula of peace’ so that Beijing, along with Western countries, would exert diplomatic pressure on Moscow as part of its coercion to end the war.

At the same time, Ukraine, in accordance with the plan of the Western elites, stands as one of the main instruments of pressure on China to make it ‘more compliant’ in key issues of world politics. And here Kiev, with the help of foreign patrons, resorts to its favorite methods of blackmail, deception and manipulation.

Thus, according to the head of the Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) A. Novikov, China is the leader among the countries whose companies are listed by Kiev in the register of ‘international sponsors of war’.

The Ukrainian official noted that of the 50 foreign companies included in this list, fourteen are registered in China. In particular, on December 20, 2023, the NAPC blacklisted the Chinese state railway corporation China Railway Construction Corporation. Earlier, Xiaomi Corporation, automobile companies Great Wall Motor and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, Alibaba Group, which owns the Aliexpress online trading platform, three major oil and gas companies China National Petroleum

Corporation, Sinopec Group and CNOOC Group, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, as well as suppliers of Hikvision video surveillance products, were subjected to Ukrainian sanctions and Dahua Technology. First of all, they are accused of helping to strengthen the Russian military potential through the implementation of bilateral economic projects with Moscow.

However, the Chinese companies included in the list of ‘sponsors of war’ are not bound by contractual obligations with the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation or other law enforcement agencies of the country. They export non-military products to Russia, as well as participate in joint business projects in the civilian sector (transport, construction, fuel and energy complex, etc.).

Meanwhile, by adopting sanctions against Chinese companies, Ukraine simultaneously ignores the facts of the sale of military and dual-use products by the West to Russia, as even the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claims. Thus, according to the Ukrainian General Staff, Western high-tech components (microchips, etc.) play an important role in the industrial production of Russian missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

This was also stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine D. Kuleba during the discussion of the ‘Ukrainian formula for peace’ in Davos in January this year. (Foreign Media)
