INTEGRATED REFINERY EXPANSION PROJECT

This integrated Oil Palm project will include a cutting-edge oil palm factory (Palm Oil Processing and Refinery), a zero-discharge effluent plant, a palm waste-based power plant, and additional structures and go-downs for support purposes. This factory marks the first Oil Palm factory in Arunachal Pradesh and India's first Oil Palm Factory under NMEO-OP.

From the construction of slipways at strategic locations such as Maya Ghat in Dhubri district and Majuli district to the establishment of passenger terminals at Ghagor in North Lakhimpur district and Bahari in Barpeta district, each proposal is meticulously designed to enhance connectivity and facilitate seamless transportation across the region.

The office was inaugurated in presence of Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, Managing Director Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). Also present on the occasion were Khalid Ahmed, Director (O&P), Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), and Md. Tipu Sultan, MD, Meghna Petroleum Ltd and senior officers of NRL. This is the first overseas office of the NRL.

The other projects include new airports in Uttar Pradesh at Chitrakoot, Shavasti, Azamgarh, and new terminals at Belgaum, Hubli in Karnataka Jabalpur and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Shravatsi and Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh will get air connectivity for the first time.

Assam has secured Rs 80,000 Crore investment without an investment summit. PM Narendra Modi's focus on Assam has brought investments for Guwahati, the expansion of refineries, a semiconductor unit, an 84-feet long statue, and various projects across the state.

Power and renewable energy minister RK Singh announced that the power sector is set to receive an investment of approximately ₹17 lakh crore over the next 5-7 years. This investment surge comes after witnessing ₹20 lakh crore of investment in the past nine years. The sector has added 190 GW of power generation capacity in the last decade, reaching around 436 GW. Singh emphasized the need for continuous capacity additions across all segments. India has also seen significant growth in module and cell manufacturing capacities, with a tariff barrier in place to protect the domestic industry.

The prime minister also launched the 'Dekho Apna Desh People's Choice Tourist Destination Poll' and 'Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign', and announced tourist destinations selected under Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) Scheme, they said.

The company which has developed a township in Asansol, is looking to expand its real estate presence in cities like Jaipur, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Alibaug and Sonepat.

DLF is in discussions with Bharti Realty to acquire under-construction phases of Aerocity in Delhi. Brookfield acquired a controlling stake in Rostrum Realty. DCCDL is likely to take care of the asset. Bharti Realty successfully built Worldmark 1, 2, and 3.

Hindustan Petroleum Corp (HPCL) plans to start operating its new Barmer refinery in Rajasthan, India, by December 2022, using mostly Middle East oil. The refinery is expected to reach full capacity within a year. HPCL plans to buy Middle Eastern heavy oil and Mangala oil from a field in Barmer.

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL) has received the letter of intent (LoI) from Aramco for carrying out engineering, procurement and construction works for three packages of the third expansion phase of the Master Gas System Network (MGS-3) in Saudi Arabia, KPIL said in a statement.

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has achieved a milestone by successfully executing one of the longest Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects in the Subansiri River, connecting Lakhimpur and Majuli in Assam, as part of its crude oil pipeline project. The project is a part of the 'Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project (NREP)', which involves laying a 1,635km pipeline from Paradip Port in Odisha to Numaligarh in Assam, alongside expanding the refinery's capacity from 3.0 MMTPA to 9.0 MMTPA.

Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) is executing the Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project (NREP), which includes laying a cross country pipeline from Paradip Port to Numaligarh. The project faces challenges at Subansiri River and aims to be completed by mid-2025.

"The 9 million tonnes a year refinery is 76 per cent mechanically complete and will be completed by year end or so. First product from the refinery will flow in December or January next year," HPCL director for refineries S Bharathan told reporters on the sidelines of India Energy Week here.

Bengaluru's Namma Metro is poised for a substantial upgrade with the formulation of a detailed project report (DPR) for a new 37-km line connecting Sarjapur to Hebbal. Estimated at Rs 16,543 crore, this initiative addresses travel concerns to and from the city's tech zones.

"We are going to be a pan India organisation," Ranjit Rath told ET in an interview. He said the company's attention to the Northeast wouldn't dilute but it would do far more activity than it has previously done with increased exploration in many other parts of the country, including Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and the Andamans.

Mobility expert and convenor of IISc Sustainable Transportation Lab, Ashish Verma, said, "BMRCL should focus on building the metro network of 317km proposed in the CMP. Metro networks in the core area are required to decongest the traffic. A suburban rail network and robust bus transport are better options to link satellite towns. Building a suburban rail network or making optimal utilisation of the existing rail network with a better integration is (more) cost-effective than building a metro network.”

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has revised the cost of expanding its Panipat refinery in Haryana by 10% to Rs 36,225 crore and pushed back the completion deadline by over a year to December 2025. The refinery will expand its capacity to turn crude oil into value-added fuels, including petrol, diesel, and ATF. IOC is also setting up a polypropylene unit and a catalytic dewaxing unit.

Apollo Micro Systems, a major player in India's defense sector, plans to establish a defense equipment manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The facility, with an estimated investment of Rs 150 crores, will expand the company's infrastructure by 3,00,000 square feet and focus on defense electronics and electro-mechanical manufacturing. Apollo Micro Systems has also set up a subsidiary to form alliances and technological partnerships with international companies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Bina Refinery's expansion project entailing Rs 50,000 crore investment as well as that of new units at Hadkal village, some 70 kilometres from the district headquarters, he said. The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited's Bina Refinery was inaugurated by then prime minister Manmohan Singh in May 2011.

HPCL is aiming to diversify its business and become an energy company. The state-run company, with a significant market share in India's fuel marketing, is focusing on expanding its balance sheet and generating new revenue streams. HPCL is progressing well with its refinery expansions, pipeline network expansion, and construction of an LPG cavern.

The company is aggressively executing few more significant projects viz. Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project (NREP), Paradip Numaligarh Crude Oil Pipeline (PNCPL) & Crude Oil Import terminal at Paradip (COIT) and 2G Ethanol Project (JV project). During the year, a 360 KTPA Polypropylene project was approved at a cost of Rs. 7,231 crore.

The heaviest of the three is at 1286 MT, making it the single largest ODC ever to be transported via Brahmaputra. The other two ODCs are weighed at 1248 MT and 741.12 MT. All the three ODCs set sail together from Diamond Harbour in Kolkata to NRL jetty through Indo Bangladesh Protocol Route (IBPR), and then on to National Waterways 2 (Brahmaputra) and National Waterways 31 (Dhansiri).
