Detained owner of Motor Sich has Russian citizenship, had access to state secrets

Bohuslaev was elected as an MP four times since then, participated in the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, and had access to state secrets.

He was also an official backer of former President Viktor Yanukovych, now wanted for treason, when Yanukovych was a presidential candidate.

Data from the official Rospasport (passport) system confirm that on Oct. 15 2000,  Bohuslaev applied to the passport and visa department of Internal Affairs in Moscow for a Russian passport in exchange for a Soviet passport issued in 1979. The date of issue of the new Russian passport was Oct. 18, 2000.

According to Schemes, Bohuslaev also has a Russian tax number linked with his Russian passport. The Russian Tax Service website confirms this data.

“Checking the passport for identification confirms the legal status of these documents,” the message reads.

Motor Sich spokesperson Ruclan Pydorych commented that he had known nothing about Bohuslaev’s Russian citizenship and this was “the first time” he had heard about it.

The SBU detained Bohuslaev the “honorary president” of Motor Sich and ex-MP of the Party of Regions, on Oct. 22. He's suspected of collaboration with and helping the aggressor country, Russia.

His detention took place amid a trial on the illegal supply of engines and other parts by Motor Sich to Russia for its attack aircraft.
