Fury was in a way at his best vs Wilder in the first fight, he simply used the wrong tactics. He clearly dominated Wilder in the first fight but made a mistake of staying away from him too long. He almost KO'd wilder late in the first fight, which is when he learned how to beat Wilder. He wasn't that much better in the 2nd fight, he simply changed his tactics. He did a great job of evading wilder in the first fight, but he allowed Wilder too much space to do his work. You say his prime was 2015 and 2020, but the problem is his win over Wlad made him and everyone believe his best work was done at range, so that's the strategy he used vs Wilder. Stay away from him and box, which almost backfired. He simply changed strategy in the 2nd fight and Wilder had no answer.
Furys jab against Vitalis Face... Just watch how bad Wlad looked afterwards and then imagen a non existent defence against that jab... Fury Would clinch, maul and tag.
Vitali's output and defence would be too much for Fury... I can't see a path to victory for him here.
Vitali has higher ring IQ than all of Fury's opponents combined sans Wlad. He is methodological, calculating, and composed. He has a granite chin and hits hard when needs to. Not to mention mentally he is simply a different breed than the C-list comic book villains like Wilder or Whyte. Whatever the outcome, it is going to be a war resembling the heavyweights of old.
Don't know what makes him a completely different bread than Wilder. Especially in the heart department.
Control game, footwork, ring IQ, punch selection, timing, rhythm manipulation, distance control, discipline, adaptability etc. Wilder is a garbage boxer and a fake champion thriving on bums and ghosts of former boxers who cannot deal with his punching power.
I understand but you said it like he had more heart which I cant agree with. Yes Vitali is the more well rounded fighter.
Fury wins by decision unless Vitali gets cut. Fury could also get cut but Vitali's style of punching doesn't lend itself to that and Vitali really comes apart when he gets hit with straight rights, as we saw in his defeat to Lennox Lewis. Vitali was never that versatile a player so I think Fury would figure him out.
