A preliminary report on the audit of Moldovagaz's historical debt will be submitted by early January, and the final report - by March 1.
Director of the Public Property Agency, Eugeniu Cozonac, said that the audit commission, made up of experts from Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS (Norway) and Forensic Risk Alliance & Co (Great Britain) completed its mission in Chisinau last week and left after collected important data and documents at Moldovagaz, valuable information, heard the employees of this company in order to better understand the context of its historic debt to Gazprom and Factoring-Finance for the gas consumed on the right bank of Nistru River. Until next spring, foreign experts will have to establish the exact amount of this historical debt, or prove its absence. Director of the Public Property Agency did not give a clear answer regarding the question about the amount of the debt under the investigation. "At this point, I would prefer not to name the exact amount, because really the purpose of the audit is to find out exactly what this historical debt is," Eugeiu CozonaC said. According to him, the audit will be carried out in three stages. Now the first stage is over - the collection of financial documents and contracts concluded by Moldova with the Russian side, including the period before the creation of Moldovagaz enterprise. After that the auditors will work on summarizing the available information.
